Most Green Tortoise buses depart from: The corner of First (1st) Street and Natoma Street in downtown San Francisco — behind the Transbay Terminal. Check your ticket or call our office for information regarding other departures.

Public Transit from San Francisco International Airport (SFO): BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) runs from the airport directly to downtown San Francisco. Take a downtown San Francisco-bound train and exit at Montgomery Street station. Find your way to street level and walk northeast on Market St. toward the Ferry Building (with the big clock tower). Turn right (southeast) at First St. (called Battery north of Market), and go one-and-one-half blocks to the corner of First St. and Natoma St. This location is behind the Transbay Bus Terminal.  Natoma St. is an alleyway between Mission St. and Howard St.

Public transit from Oakland International Airport (OAK): Take the AirBart bus shuttle from the airport to BART's Coliseum/Oakland Airport station. From here, take any San Francisco-bound train and exit at Montgomery Street station. Find your way to street level and walk northeast on Market St. toward the Ferry Building (with the big clock tower). Turn right (southeast) at First St. (called Battery north of Market), and go one-and-one-half blocks to the corner of First St. and Natoma St. This location is behind the Transbay Bus Terminal.  Natoma St. is an alleyway between Mission St. and Howard St.

Amtrak Connections are at the Ferry Building at the northeast (bay) end of Market St.

Basic Driving Directions: From I-80 westbound (Bay Bridge), take the first San Francisco Exit - Fremont St., and then take a left onto Natoma St., the second (small) cross-street to find our bus stop at First St. and Natoma St. If you are driving east on I-80, take the last San Francisco Exi for 4th St., go under the freeway and then turn right onto Mission St., and right again onto First Street for 1/2 block to Natoma.

From the airport:

1.) A Shuttle bus costs $10-$15 and will drop you at our front door.

2.) BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) runs from the airport to downtown. Get off at Montgomery Station and walk 1-2 blocks south on Market St. to 3rd & Market. There, transfer to San Francisco MUNI 9x costs $1.50, and go to Broadway. The 9x stops half block from our corner. You will see the big green sign.

3.) The city bus from SFO is the SamTrans 292 and costs $1.50, take it to mission and First street. There, transfer to San Francisco MUNI 9x (at Market and 3rd) which also costs $1.50, and go to Broadway. The 9x stops half block from our corner. You will see the big green sign.

From the transbay terminal (Greyhound): At Fremont and Mission, take the SF MUNI 12 or 42 to Sansome and Pacific. Walk one block north to Broadway, turn left (west), and walk two blocks to our door.

FROM SEATTLE-TACOMA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (SEA):
From the baggage claim level of the airport, walk outside onto the sidewalk and to the right (south) past the end of the main terminal to catch Metro (local transit) buses to Downtown Seattle for $1.75. You will need to board the #174 (local) or #194 (express is much better) and ride it into downtown Seattle, where you should get off at Westlake Center (Pike St. & 4th Ave). We are at the corner of 1st and Pike Street across from the Pike Place Market sign.

FROM THE GREYHOUND STATION:
On a sunny day walk out the Stewart Street doors, turn left, stroll seven blocks down Stewart to 1st Ave. turn left and start looking for our big green sign... on a rainy day take a cab and save your reciept which will be worth $2 per person off your first night, up to the cost of the cab trip (should be $5-$6.)

FROM KING STREET STATION (AMTRAK):
Take a cab and save your reciept which will be worth $2 per person off your first night, up to the cost of the cab trip (should be $6-$8.)
