Baja Boogie - 7 Days

Our affordable backpacker bus tour of Baja, Mexico, has it all! Watch leaping dolphins and soaring manta rays, snorkel through turquoise waters, stand in the shadows of towering cacti, and explore remote villages.

Our Baja adventure departs San Francisco in the evening and heads south through the night to San Diego where we make a breakfast stop and get ready to cross the border. Once we cross into Baja, we stop in the busy town of Ensenada where you can grab a crispy fish taco and explore the bustling streets that are overflowing with quaint cafes and endless goodies. Grab your camera and wander the markets keeping an eye out for fresh pan dulce. Hop back on your adventure bus that evening with your new friends, get cozy, and watch the dusty desert turn to night as we roll south. Wake up the next morning on the majestic Pacific Coast where we will share our first in-camp breakfast.

Keep your eyes open as we roll through strange and wild desert landscapes as we cross the peninsula to Bahia De Los Angeles on the Sea of Cortez. Stretch your legs and dip your toes in the fantastic waters as you enjoy a camp dinner. Relax, enjoy the Baja winter weather, and fall asleep under a blanket of stars. After a relaxing beach camp, perhaps you’re feeling adventurous; get active with a hike in the untouched wilderness of Baja to take in the endless stunning views. Or grab your sunglasses and sign up for an exciting boat trip where you’re sure to see an array of exotic and beautiful wildlife.

As we adventure on, kick your shoes off and take a dip in the shady swimming hole that hides in the thick palm fronds just outside the town of San Ignacio. Take a tour through the picturesque town square and explore the beautiful mission that was built in 1728. We continue south through the beautiful Bahia Concepcion. Take a sunset stroll along the sleepy river of Mulege, or walk through town for a taste of the local life. Sample authentic treats, or pick up some hand-crafted souvenirs to take home.

Get ready for some big-city fun as we head to La Paz, the capital of Baja Sur. Feeling brave? Spend the day in the water with local guides swimming with massive and graceful Whale Sharks. If you would rather swim with something smaller, try snorkeling with cute and playful sea lions; or strap your boots on and get lucky with a deep-sea fishing adventure. Soon after, we cross the Tropic of Cancer and arrive at the magical, colorful, coastal town of Todos Santos. Explore the famous Hotel California and get lost in the work of the many artists that live there. Try a bite of the fresh, local, cuisine; or sip a salty, sweet, margarita on the beach and watch surfers ride the waves.

We continue to the tip of the Baja Peninsula, Cabo San Lucas. Here we will say goodbye to head our separate ways. If you have some time before your flight out, peak your head into the many museums, or wander the streets looking at the array of colorful souvenirs and art for sale. Or relax on the beach before you catch your flight back home!
