Mendocino Coast Tour - 2 Days/2 Nights
Breathtaking views, historical lighthouses, pastoral vineyards and rustic cabins in old growth redwood forests await! Discover the serene beauty of Mendocino County and explore natural wonders in a region that takes you back in time. Sample hand-crafted microbrews, embark on a wine-tasting journey or develop your gourmet palate as we wind through this three-day adventure.
After a short night drive from San Francisco, wake up for breakfast and an inspiring morning stroll at the beach on the Mendocino Coast. We'll visit the historic Point Cabrillo Lightstation, built shortly after the San Francisco earthquake in 1906 and then explore the picturesque town of Mendocino. Set atop the bluffs overlooking the mighty Pacific Ocean, this quaint seaside town is known for its 19th century charm. Mendocino is more than just a beautiful village -- it is home to a variety of artists and gourmet chefs. Enjoy a stroll through town and splurge on a baked-from-scratch delicacy, or take home a collectable from one of the many fine art galleries and shops.
Enjoy a classic California camp night under the stars near a picture perfect beach in Mendocino County. Daytime activities are filled with choices: rent a canoe for a peaceful paddle or swim in the Big River, hike through the forest, rent a bike for a two-wheeled excursion, or study the wildlife of the nearby wetlands. Whatever you choose, you'll enjoy a gourmet dinner prepared with the group!
Venturing south on the last day, we'll visit the Anderson Valley and Hendy Woods State Park. Hike through the tallest trees in the world, try your skills at a round of Bocce Ball, sample the brews crafted at Anderson Valley Brewery, or relax with a glass of wine from Balo Vineyard. Later we'll dine at the Solar Living Institute and take a guided tour of this unique facility which promotes alternative energy and organic farming.
