don't have actual snow or ice to speak of we like to pretend that we
do, and how do we do that you ask? Fake outdoor ice rinks!
Now admittedly we do have our share of indoor rinks as well but
from November 11 through the middle of January 2010 there are two outdoor ice rinks. One
at the Embarcadero Center and one in Union Square
And you know what they say, when in Rome,
do as the Romans do. When in San Francisco, join us in pretending that
we have real seasons! Grab a Peppermint Mocha or an Eggnog Latte and
go for a skate.

Where you ask? Well one is in Justin Herman Plaza, adjacent to Four Embarcadero Center and across from the historic Ferry Building, and the other is in Union Square right across from Macy's.
When can I go you inquire? They tend to be open from about 10am - 10pm, and there are usually 90 minute sessions that start on every even hour
How much you scoff? Tends to run about $13 for skating and skate rental.
Every once and a while the rink will be shut down for private parties and such so make sure to go to the website those dates. The Embarcadero - http://tinyurl.com/yal2zfp Union Square - http://www.unionsquareicerink.com/.
If you happen to be the type to pretend it's winter any time of
year there is an indoor rink at the Yerba Buena gardens, they tend to
run a bit cheaper at $11.00 for ice skating and skate rental.
Pss. Little known fact on Wednesday night they offer free ice
skate rental for the evening session. So gather up some friends after
the Wednesday night dinner and go for a skate!
