Grass Widow, Brilliant Colors, Babies at the Li Po Lounge, 916 Grant Ave., S.F. 21+ 9pm. A dash of punk, some surf rock and some discordant female vocalage. Should be sweet.
Roky Erickson & Okkervil River at the Fillmore. Bluesy rock from a godfather of the psychedelic rock movement. I saw this legend of a man a year or so ago and it was absolutely amazing. If you like good music, if you like classic bands, DON'T MISS THIS SHOW!
Nerveskade, Abrupt, Ghastly Chains, Deras Krig, Battleshok at Yer Haus, Oakland a/a $5 7pm. Punk and hardcore, should be a good show for the little angry person in all of us.
Hecanjog/Hey Exit, CJ Borosque/Travis Johns/Arachnid Arcade at the Luggage Store Gallery, S.F. 8pm Yet another of the great experimental noise show.

Crow (Japan), Conquest For Death, Acephalix, Cross Stitched Eyes (Germany), Surrender, No Statik (floor) at Gilman $10 7:30pm. Doing what the gilman has become famous for, an underground punk hardcore show.
The Pussy, Prize Hog, Kevin Shields, Sixes, Lemon Bear at the Purple House, 5716 Genoa St., Oakland (dave's birthday). Not sure who dave is and I had trouble finding a lot of these bands, but it sounds like another noise show. Happy Bday Dave, whoever you are.

Clem Snide, The Whiskey And The Devil Chaplain, The Heligoats at the Bottom Of the Hill 21+ $10/$12 10pm. Indie pop music, crooning away strumming their guitars and lamenting.
Nokie Edwards (of the Ventures) backed by Venturesmania, Deke Dickerson & the Ecco-Fonics, Pollo Del Mar, plus the Mini-Skirt Mob Go-Go Dancers at the Rickshaw Stop, S.F. 8pm (KFJC) . So this is like a surf rock extravaganza, so boogie on down and have some fun.
Kaki King, An Horse (Australia) at the Fillmore $20 9pm.
Dredg at the Great American Music Hall. So I really dislike this band, that being said they play a kind of pop almost metal that tries to bring in a wide influence of instruments and genres. So you can decide for yourself.
