Ready to spend three amazing days sampling the yummiest foods (there are over seventy food vendors offering a dazzling array of options, however you definitely won't find a deep fried Twinkie) while strolling the shady paths and almost-secret nooks of 100 acres of THE coolest fair you've ever been to? Nestled among the trees and meadows you'll find over 700 artisans selling truly handmade crafts, ranging from baskets to yurts, and everything in between. As you journey along the winding paths you'll have to be ready to move to the side in order to let the Parade pass by, and you just may want to fall in behind and follow them to get a good seat at the Circus. But be ready, neither of these will match your previous ideas of a parade or a circus!
The Oregon Country Fair (note: that's Country fair, not County fair, there's a big difference!) started in 1969 as a small renaissance fair set up to raise funds for an alternative school. During the intervening 40 years the Fair has evolved into a world-class 3 day event that hosts 45,000 merry-makers. The Fair hasn't lost its original focus of education, either, and you can still learn all kinds of new things at Energy Park, Community Village or the Front Porch.
