Every Saturday and Sunday Bisou which is a french bistro has bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s for $10 from 10am to 3pm. Bisou is in the heart of the Castro so take a look around while your there; check out a drag show and maybe even buy yourself a wig...

Lime--- 2247 Market St.

The big Cojones of Mimosa parties is unquestionably at Lime. There is a DJ throwing down music and funky fresh individuals make the atmosphere warm and friendly. Every Saturday you can get bottomless mimosas for $7 or pomegranate mimosas for $10 from 11AM-3PM and every Sunday from 10:30AM-3PM. Also check out the all you can eat burgers and mimosas for $15 dollars.

Nick's Tacos/Rouge---1500 Broadway St.

this joint is a wonky restaurant/nightclub. On one side it is Nick's Crispy Tacos on the other side is Rouge. The taco joint is absolutely delicious and you can catch the game while watching one of Rouges HD TV's. Bottomless Mimosas are $7 every Sunday from 10:30AM-3PM.

So it seems some strange contest for the aftermath of the coming apocalypse is already underway.  They are setting up a table and looking for skills that most people might find useless in this day and age of smart phones and internet Nigeria scams.  But these "celebrities" are so sure that they know what will be needed after the machines take over, or the asteroid hits, or the smurfs show their true colors and come to enslave us all (let's face it we all know the world is coming to an end none of us really knows how, that's all I'm getting at.)  There is bound to be some singing, and some dancing, hopefully some well placed explosions, the entertaining kind not the viva la revolution kind.  But what this shindig really needs in my humble non "celebrity" opinion, is more cat juggling.  Some have said that it's inhumane, but those people have never seen the pampered lives of these aerial acrobatic felines.  They not only enjoy a lucrative life from the money they garner being tossed into the air, but they also get plenty of . . . tail. (bet you thought I was gonna say pussy. . . cat)  Basically though it seems to be based around peoples talents, so if you have a talent you think is worthy then maybe you should go see what you can accomplish here.  And good luck kiddies, those fortunate survivors of the coming apocalypse look forward to being entertained and razzle dazzled by your inane talents. . . I mean insanely talented psychotic. . . oh screw you know what I mean. . . now get out of my head.

Here in San Francisco we have garnered a reputation for a pretty epic hipster culture.  And with Hipster culture comes a beer culture.  Next week our fair city will be holding the 2nd annual Beer Week.  A week where all the local microbreweries, of which we have many, gather to celebrate and premier new products.  There are a variety of events ranging from tours of breweries to release parties at some amazing bars in San Francisco.

Hey kids!  Its your friendly neighborhood hostel worker here to tell you about the comedy scene here in  San Francisco.  What comedy scene you ask? Well once upon a time San Francisco was the place to be for "alternative comedy" whatever that means.  Greats like Patton Oswalt and Robin Williams have spent a good chunk of their career here in SF and to our credit we still have some pretty great clubs still operating in the city, most of which are right in our neighborhood.  Cobb's Comedy Club (cobbscomedyclub.com) and the Punchline (punchlinecomedyclub.com) are the two more traditional clubs but we also have the smaller more personal, Purple Onion (caffemacaroni.com/purple.shtml) not a block away from our front door.

And for the last 11 years we have opened our figurative city gates to the SF Sketchfest.  A comedy extravaganza that lasts over 2 weeks.  Half the venues are in our neighborhood and the other half are super easy to get to from the Tortoise.  The dates this year are January 19th through February 4th.

A ton of podcasts are going live shows like Jimmy Pardo's "Never not Funny", Chris Hardwick's "Nerdist", and Mark Maron's "WTF".   This is really the year of the comic, there are a million stand up shows to choose from.  I would suggest the Meltdown Show at Cobbs Comedy Club on January 28th.

But, since we know most of our guests are traveling on a budget, here are some

Mighty (119 Utah St.) -2nd annual 1984 NYE! two floors bumming non-stop 80s music all night, champagne toast at midnight. FREE! So I'm sitting at the front desk of the hostel, having a nice relaxing rainy day, and then suddenly the zoom of a fighter plane shakes my glass of tea. Do not fear, kind travelers, San Francisco is not under attack...it's just FLEET WEEK. This is when all the Navy ships dock in the bay for a week on the good solid ground, and it means 2 things for city-dwellers and visitors:

1) There will be a influx of very well dressed Navy men wandering the streets of San Francisco. Make friends with them.
2) The Fleet Week Air show will be Saturday 12:30 - 4pm, which showcases the prowess of the Blue Angles Navy fighter pilots. Watch from anywhere you can see the sky; a favorite viewing ground is anywhere along the marina. I, personally, don't support military might, but the Blue Angels are still badass.
