Well, Howdy there. I've been scouring the city for delicious cheap food
options lately for your eating pleasure, However with my vegetarian palate I had to enlist the help of some meat loving friends and rely slightly on the handy dandy worldwide web
for suggestions. I did end up stumbling upon some gems, all the places
listed below are 10 dollars or less hopefully that will add a couple extra dollars to your beer fund... You can thank me later.

Sam Wo's--813 Washington Street @ Grant Avenue-- Open Until 3AM.
on over to Sam Wo's. This is a restaurant with character. The seating
is on the second and third floor so, you have to walk through the
kitchen in order to be seated. Not only that you're food is brought to
you on a small hand operated dumbwaiter. And
although they don't serve alcohol but, they are more than willing to
let you bring in your own and luckily for you you'll save a few extra
bucks. The kicker, Sam Wo's is only a 7 minute walk from our hostel so
if necessary you can stumble home. I suggest trying the Chow Fun which
is only 4.50 and I've heard that the BBQ pork rice noodle rolls are to
Tommy's Joint---1101 Geary Boulevard @ Van Ness-- Open until 1:40AM
Lovers; If you like meat at a ridiculously reasonable price this is
your joint. Tommy's claim to fame is that their "atmosphere is just like
their food--no frills" If you want lettuce on your sandwich this
ain't your spot. If you want a fork; they'll tell you to bring your own
damn fork. If you want a side of something better speak up fast or
else you're order will be up and ready before you even get the time to
utter bu-bu but I wanted green beans with that. Looking for a cold beer Tommy's
100 beers to choose from! ($3 dollars for domestic). Just to get a
taste of the prices Tommy's Great big Roast Beef Sandwich is only $6.00. Meatball Sandwich only $3.95. So, meat lovers unite, and head on over to Tommy's.
Rocky's Frybread--- Outside of El Rio 3158 Mission St.--- Open from 8PM until Supplies run out
are in for a delicious street treat when you go visit Rocky at his
frybread stand on Mission St. All rocky has is his portable stove and
the most delicious, mouth watering frybread you have ever tasted. He
is only cookin' on Mondays,Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays after 8
p.m. and supplies are limited so you want to get there early. Rocky
has a sweet frybread which is sprinkled with powered sugar and local
honey, however he also offers up a savory frybread topped with organic
lettuce, tomatoes and onions, cheese and vegetarian beans just ask and
Rocky can put additional toppings or even whirl up a vegan
frybread option. And the icing on the cake Rocky's frybread is on a
pay-what-you-can-afford kinda system. Typically, people pay around $5.00
for this frybread but if you've only got two dollars in your pocket
Rocky won't turn you down. Frybread drizzled with honey can get a little messy so unless you don't mind be sticky I'd
suggest bringing a change of clothing or if you don't mind a bib?
